Can Chronic Tiredness Be a Sign of Physical Dependence to Vicodin?

I take vicodin about once a week to treat knee pain. I try not to take it more so I do not gain an addiction. During the time I am not taking the medicine I feel fatigued, however after I take it I seem to gain energy. Is this tiredness bad and is there a way to overcome it?
